Martyr soldier Rambabu Singh was a resident of Vasilpur village of Hariharpur Panchayat of Barharia block of Siwan district. His father's name is late Ramvichar Singh, who was the former deputy chief of Hariharpur Panchayat of Barharia block. One of his brothers Akhilesh Singh is working as a logo pilot in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, while his wife lives in Dhanbad, Jharkhand.

Martyr soldier Ram Babu Singh's father-in-law Subhash Chandra Sharma said that his son-in-law had joined duty in Jammu and Kashmir on April 10.

On Monday, around 1:30 pm, a call came from the Army Headquarters that he had been shot. After that, the information was received that he had been martyred. His wife Anjali Singh has still not been informed about his martyrdom.

Martyr Ram Babu Singh's father-in-law said that he was posted in Jodhpur, however, during the tension between India and Pakistan, he was stopped in Jammu and Kashmir despite his posting.
