Under the company's new "Discretionary Time off (DTO)" policy, U.S.-based salaried employees will not longer have a fixed number of vacation days per year.

这种无限期假期最糟糕了，就是平时不敢随便用，走人的时候不能兑钱
如果有限期，快到期的时候就必须休假，辞职的时候还兑成钱

That's similar to some other "hi-tech" companies' policy: Conditional to responsible manager's approval and hence one can have 0 to several dozen days paid time off.

这很贼，它是说，unlimited time off，没有说，unlimited PAID time off。
它意思是说，你休越多，公司就发你越少年薪。公司省钱。

这种休假政策就是scam。。。。如楼上所说。。换公司或者被雷的时候没有用完的假期不能换成钱。。。
。。。很少有人心安理得的修”unlimited“的假期。。。。。资本家不养闲人。。。。鸡贼的很。。。。。

不是 PAID time off ，没有用完，当然没钱。

虽然 HR 告诉你年薪是多少，但你若请事假（或所谓的无薪休假），你的薪水就会扣掉这天数的酬劳，扣的钱当然是按天算的。

滚蛋的时候你就知道了，很多公司给package的时候假期可以cash out. 有些公司到最后有12周，你一次cash 2年的，差不多半年工资。

微软现在推的是 unlimited TO (time off)
微软有称呼它 unlimited Paid TO (PTO) 吗？你看这讨论文的标题。
HR 对于这种用字很严谨很小心的，没有加 Paid 这字就是没有 pay 。
