fyi:
the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek, with the 4.2L FB25D 4 Cyl. engine, has an engine oil capacity of 4.4 quarts (4.2 liters).
so one quarts over 4.4 quarts total ... that's over 20% engine oil lost within 1000 miles driving
It is quite normal for vehicles to consume oil during normal operation. With the use of synthetic oils and extending regular maintenance intervals to 10,000 kilometers, topping up engine oil between servicing may be necessary, leading owners to believe their vehicle is consuming more oil than normal.
Depending upon the model or year of production, your Owner's Manual, or Warranty/Maintenance and Roadside Assistance Booklet may list 1 litre/2,000 km's to 1 litre/5,000km's as rates of normal oil consumption.
