What We Know
The gift consisted of a circular piece of Corning glass (likely Gorilla Glass) engraved with Trump’s name, Cook’s signature, and “Made in USA, 2025.” It was mounted on a 24-karat gold base sourced from Utah.
The plaque was designed by a retired U.S. Marine working at Apple and presented during a White House event where Apple announced a major U.S. investment and secured tariff exemptions.
Speculative Estimate
Someone on Reddit’s "theydidthemath" subreddit attempted to estimate the value of the gold component:
They guessed the plaque was roughly the size of Tim Cook’s hand (~19 cm × 10 cm, maybe a few cm thick), leading to a volume estimate of about 570 cm³.
At gold’s density (~19.32 g/cm³), that would mean over 11 kg of solid gold.
With a price of around $110 per gram (as of that estimate), if it were solid gold it could be worth about $1.2 million

.
However, observers noted that the plaque didn’t appear heavy enough to be solid gold. It's much more plausible that the gold was merely a thin plating or shell rather than a solid block, which would reduce the actual gold value significantly。
Bottom Line
No official appraisal has been released for the gift.
If it were solid gold (which seems unlikely), its value could be around $1 million+, per speculative math.
But it’s more likely the gold is mostly decorative plating, meaning the actual intrinsic value is far lower—perhaps just modest material cost, with most of its worth being symbolic.
