BEIJING, Sept 3 (Reuters) - When Chinese President Xi Jinping walked shoulder to shoulder with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday (Sept. 3, 2025), a hot mic caught them discussing organ transplants and the possibility that human could live to 150 years old.
The moment came as Putin and Xi walked with North Korea's Kim Jong Un at the front of more than two dozen foreign leaders to view a military parade in Beijing marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
It was carried on the livestream provided by state broadcaster CCTV to other media, including AP and Reuters.
"In the past, it used to be rare for someone to be older than 70 and these days they say that at 70 one's still a child," Xi's translator could be heard saying in Russian.
An inaudible passage from Putin follows. His Mandarin translator then said: "With the development of biotechnology, human organs can be continuously transplanted, and people can live younger and younger, and even achieve immortality."
Xi then spoke in Chinese: "Predictions are, in this century people may live to 150 years old."
Putin confirmed the exchange during a news conference later on Wednesday.
"I think when we went to the parade, the Chairman talked about it," Putin told reporters when asked about the conversation, referring to Xi.
"Modern means of health improvement, medical methods, even surgical ones related to organ replacement, enable humanity to hope for active life to last longer than it does today," he said. "Average age is different in different countries but life expectancy will increase significantly."

不过，在水木社区SMTH上，有人说尹烨是个骗子。另外，尹烨指的是基因编辑技术与干细胞再生，并非器官移植。
其实，在9月3日的谈话中，习近平没有提到器官移植，只是普京在说器官移植。习近平只说了70岁和150岁。
