From the discussions on this forum, it seems like most of the first-generation folks who moved to the US are more into Chinese culture than the Western scene. Now, I'm not saying that's a bad thing at all. I'm just pointing out the fact that we're deeply influenced by the culture we grew up with, and this sometimes stops us from embracing new things even after moving to a new country.
Let's say I start a chat about Shakespeare and Moliere. I reckon there'd only be a few of you genuinely interested. I'm not implying that you've never heard of or read them, but what I'm getting at is a deeper appreciation. One that goes beyond the basic plot and delves into the nuances, like comparing the humor in the 'Comedy of Errors' and 'Les Fourberies de Scapin' – particularly how they use misunderstandings for comic effect. Sure, some of you might have read both authors extensively, but deep down, do they truly captivate you?
New country, same tastes?

12:52 From the discussions on this forum, it seems like most of the first-generation folks who moved to the US are more into Chinese culture than the Western scene.
