KANSAS CITY, Mo. —

Several Kansas City area-based employees at Oracle received layoff notices on Tuesday, KMBC 9 Investigates has confirmed from at least two sources with knowledge of company’s actions.

The company, now headquartered in Nashville, did not announce a total number of layoffs. But sources confirmed to KMBC that several long-tenured employees lost their jobs.

The company’s latest workforce reduction comes just three years after it purchased healthcare technology company Cerner.

Since then, Oracle has closed former Cerner campuses and consolidated work to its Innovations Campus near Interstate 435 and Bannister.

Oracle has not shared any numbers of layoffs with Missouri and Kansas officials.

KMBC emailed Oracle for a statement about the layoffs, but did not immediately hear back.

A Bloomberg report from 2024 showed that Oracle employed more than 6,000 workers in Kansas City, down more than 5,000 in just three years since it took over for Cerner.
