As police were investigating shootings that occurred in the India Basin neighborhood of San Francisco on Tuesday evening, another person was arrested for allegedly shooting a gun near the hospital where four people were being treated for gunshot wounds, police said.
At 5:49 p.m., first-responders with the Fire Department arrived at 1555 Burke Ave., where they found a person suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The person was transported to the hospital and their current condition is not known.
About 6 p.m., law enforcement learned that three other people with gunshot wounds had self-transported to the hospital and it is believed they were from the same shooting.
Then at 6:38 p.m., officers in the 1000 block of Potrero Avenue by Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital observed someone fire a gun, the department said. The suspect was immediately arrested.
"At this time it has not been determined if this suspect is related to the earlier shooting that occurred," the San Francisco Police Department said.
These are both active investigations. Anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.
